Following a successful brand identity refresh, Relab partnered with Freycinet Resort to reimagine its online presence through a new website. The project’s goal was to craft a digital platform that seamlessly integrates the resort’s breathtaking natural surroundings with a sophisticated storytelling approach, inspiring visitors to book their stay. Drawing on the resort’s unique location in Tasmania’s Coles Bay – offering 360-degree views of unspoiled wilderness and coastal beauty – the website was designed to reflect the tranquility, luxury, and eco-conscious values that define Freycinet Resort.

Recognising the limitations of its legacy website, Freycinet Resort sought to establish a stronger digital presence by rethinking its proposition. The new website needed to go beyond functional improvements; it was an opportunity to reinforce the brand’s positioning as a premium, eco-certified accommodation provider. Key objectives included integrating seamlessly with a third-party online booking system to streamline reservations, ensuring scalability for future content marketing initiatives, and delivering a visually stunning, interactive front-end experience. These priorities aimed to not only enhance user engagement but also align with the resort’s commitment to offering a luxurious and unforgettable guest journey.

Our approach was rooted in collaboration, transparency, and a shared commitment to quality. Leveraging our prior work on Freycinet Resort’s brand identity, we entered the project with a clear understanding of the business' values and aspirations. We initiated the process by identifying user needs, mapping detailed customer journeys, and conducting "lightning talks" with the client to explore inspirations and expectations.

Throughout the project, we fostered an inclusive environment where the stakeholders and teams participated in key milestones such as wireframe reviews, concept demonstrations, and interaction design prototypes. This iterative and user-focused methodology ensured every aspect of the website reflected the resort’s premium positioning while delivering an intuitive and delightful experience for visitors.

We developed detailed, interactive wireframes to provide a realistic blueprint of the website's structure and functionality. These clickable mockups allowed us to focus on user experience and navigation flow, offering a tangible preview of the interface before visual design and development commenced. A standout feature is the adaptive Light & Dark theme, which shifts based on the time of day, enhancing visual comfort and engagement.
